Boom Studios Joins Direct Market Blind Bag Frenzy with SIKTC #50

Boom Studios is finally bringing its popular blind bags to comic shops, and they are starting big. The highly anticipated Something Is Killing The Children #50 will drop in a mystery package this October. This marks Boom's first direct market blind bag offering, a significant move after years of convention success.
Other publishers like Skybound and Marvel have embraced the blind bag trend for years. Boom's Vice President, Josh Hayes, admitted they might be "a little late to the party." But they promise a "really nice gift" with this landmark issue.
Something Is Killing The Children, the supernatural horror hit from James Tynion IV and Werther Dell'Edera, has been a critical darling and fan-favorite. Issue #50 continues Erica Slaughter's harrowing journey. Distraught after the Tribulation saga and Gabi's death, Erica flees the Order. Her path leads to the formative Valmont Mountain Lodge, promising both past memories and new dangers.

Catzye Take
This is a smart move for Boom, tapping into a proven successful format for a milestone issue. Fans who've collected convention blind bags will recognize the appeal, and new readers might jump in for the mystery. What's interesting is if other Boom titles will follow suit.
