The internal ruleset governing what abilities exist in a story and what they cost — the main thing making fights suspenseful rather than hollow. The term reduces to 7 — the inquiry.
7A 7 by its term: analyst & seeker, and therefore the inquiry.
A power system is the set of rules defining how abilities work in a setting: where power originates, what it can and cannot do, what it costs, and how it can be countered.
Suspense is a function of reader knowledge. If the audience understands the constraints, they can anticipate how a confrontation might turn and recognise a clever solution when it arrives. Without constraints there is nothing to anticipate — any outcome is equally possible, which means none is interesting.
This is why the best-regarded battle series almost uniformly feature tightly specified, limited abilities. Victories come from applying a known rule unexpectedly, which only satisfies if the rule was established first.
Systems that expand without limit lose the ability to generate tension, because the reader learns any obstacle can be met with a newly revealed capability.
The arithmetic is unremarkable and worth doing anyway: 52 across 2 words, reducing to 7. The weight sits in “Power”, which carries 32 on its own and reduces to 5.
What the 7 brings is inquiry. The reference files it as an open question. Whatever else this entry is doing, it is doing it with the 7's pull toward the hidden and the unresolved.
Heart's Desire 7, Personality 9: the presentation folds back into the want: reckoning in service of inquiry.
The 7 asks you to sit with the part that was never explained. The 7 mistakes withholding for depth. Some works filed here are obscure because they are unfinished, not because they are deep. The other entries that reduce to 7 are collected on The Inquiry.
