Zombie no Afureta Sekai Anime Pushed to January 2027, New Details Emerge

Bad news first, zombie fans: the upcoming anime adaptation of Rokuro Uraji's light novel, Zombie no Afureta Sekai de Ore dake ga Osowarenai, is pushing its premiere to January 2027. Originally slated for 2026, Frontier Works confirmed the shift alongside new cast and staff details.
This is the series where high schooler Akira Hojo discovers he's immune to zombie bites – and actually gets stronger from them. A pretty wild twist on the genre, and one that's kept fans hooked since its Shousetsuka ni Narou debut.
Studio NAZ (ID: INVADED, Renai Flops) takes the reins, with Satoshi Shimizu (Naruto Shippuuden episode director) helming the project. Hiroshi Aizawa makes his anime series composition debut, while Kousuke Kawamura (Myriad Colors Phantom World) handles character designs. Wataru Hatano will voice Akira Hojo, joined by Ayaka Suwa as childhood friend Mei Misaki.

Catzye Take
Delays are rarely good news, but pushing a premiere a full year often means a studio is committed to delivering quality. Fans of unique takes on zombie survival should definitely keep this one on their radar. With NAZ's track record for quirky adaptations, this could be a standout.
