Chihara-san Anime Detonates January Delay, But Star Cast Still Shines

Bad news, Landmine fans: The highly anticipated "Are You a Landmine, Chihara-san?" anime adaptation just hit a snag. Originally slated for a Fall 2025 debut, the series is now officially pushed to January 2026. Delays are never fun, but at least the explosive cast announcements are still a blast.
Maaya Uchida leads the charge as the titular Chihara, a girl whose emotions literally detonate. Joining her are the legendary Tomokazu Sugita as protagonist Akira Oyamada and Daisuke Ono stepping into the role of student council president Kouki Narimiya. That's a serious voice acting powerhouse ready to tackle Konbu Wakame's unique romantic comedy.
Mirai Minato (known for "Our Last Crusade or the Rise of a New World") directs at EMT Squared, a studio with a track record of adapting various light novel and manga series. Before the anime even drops, keep an ear out: a special character song featuring Maaya Uchida will detonate in December 2025. It's a nice pre-season treat, even if we're waiting longer for the full series.
“Delays are never fun, but at least the explosive cast announcements are still a blast.”
Catzye Take
This delay is a bummer, but securing talent like Uchida, Sugita, and Ono for a rom-com of this premise suggests the production is aiming high. Fans will want to watch if the extra time truly polishes the adaptation. Let's hope the character song offers a good preview!
