XCOM Takes Tabletop: Modiphius Unleashes New Miniatures Wargame

Modiphius Entertainment, known for its tabletop adaptations of Fallout and Elder Scrolls, is taking on the alien menace: XCOM. They just announced XCOM: The Miniatures Game, a brand-new solo and co-op adventure wargame in partnership with 2K Games. This isn't just another skirmish game; it’s a full-fledged campaign experience built on the highly regarded Five Parsecs From Home ruleset.
Players take command of an elite XCOM squad, fighting missions, building their headquarters, researching alien tech, and even facing off against other players as the alien invaders in a PvP mode. The 180-page core rulebook, packed with new art, covers squad creation, mission generation, a detailed combat system, and even incorporates fan-favorite elements from the video game expansions, like MEC Troopers and the nefarious EXALT faction.
Modiphius plans a monthly release schedule for new alien encounter sets, growing the war as players expand their collection. The initial pre-order wave includes XCOM Operatives, Sectoids, Thin Men, Chryssalids, and Seekers, alongside an iconic Infection Pod terrain piece. Later waves promise Mutons, Cyberdiscs, Sectopods, and more.

Catzye Take
This is a big move for XCOM, especially leveraging the respected Five Parsecs From Home system for a solo/co-op experience. Fans should pay close attention to the monthly alien releases, as that dynamic content could keep campaigns fresh for a long time. It could easily become a staple for sci-fi wargamers.
