The Pitt's Supriya Ganesh Reveals Personal Battle Behind Dr. Mohan's Panic, Eyes Future

Supriya Ganesh, who brought Dr. Samira Mohan to life in The Pitt Season 2, revealed a deeply personal source for her character's on-screen panic attack: her own anxiety disorder. This raw authenticity underpinned Mohan's tumultuous journey, culminating in the character's emotional departure from the ER.
Mohan's Season 2 arc was a masterclass in controlled chaos. Between a high-pressure ER, an overbearing mother, and a looming career crossroads, her breaking point was inevitable. Ganesh explained that Mohan's life plans were rooted in returning to New Jersey for her mother. When that plan shattered, so did Mohan's carefully constructed world.
Ganesh embraced Mohan's less 'palatable' side, showcasing her as prickly and socially awkward outside of doctor-patient interactions. This was a character whose life revolved solely around work, pushing people away.
“I have an anxiety disorder. And I had to sit back and go, 'OK, well, do I really know my panic attacks are coming? No.'”

This kind of deep, personal commitment to a role really elevates a performance, even in a medical drama. Fans should appreciate Ganesh's honesty and vulnerability here. It sets a high bar for authentic character portrayal, something we love to see across all mediums.
