Spider-Woman Goes Dark for 50th Anniversary, Ann Nocenti Returns
Jessica Drew, the iconic Spider-Woman, blasts into a dark new era this September. Marvel's 50th Anniversary Special brings a shocking return: legendary writer Ann Nocenti.
Nocenti, who famously ended Spider-Woman's original run in the 1980s, delivers a redemptive detective story. Joined by artist Stefano Raffaele, she sends Jessica chasing clues in Los Angeles, facing classic foe Flying Tiger. Nocenti highlights Jessica's isolating spider pheromone scent, a key to her detective skills and universal appeal.
Meanwhile, Dan Watters (Loki) and Andrea Broccardo (Spider-Man Noir) launch Spider-Woman into the shadows. A "terrible twist of fate" awaits after Amazing Spider-Man: Spider-Versity. Jessica dives into her PI roots with journalist Ben Urich, exploring dark corners of the Marvel Universe. Watters promises a status quo that will "shock fans." Will this darkness threaten her heroic legacy or sanity?
