Sniper Elite: The Board Game's Operation Kraken Expansion Sets Sail for 2026

Fans are gearing up for a major return. Sniper Elite: The Board Game, a tactical tabletop adaptation, just revealed its new expansion: Operation Kraken. After a three-year hiatus and a wildly successful Gamefound campaign that raised over £360,000, Rebellion Unplugged is dropping players deep behind enemy lines once more.
This isn't just a rehash. Operation Kraken dives into a naval front, challenging elite sniper Karl Fairburne to stop an Axis supership. Players can either infiltrate the vessel or locate crucial plans in a one-vs-many showdown. Expect two fresh maps — a Norman Village and a claustrophobic Frigate — alongside new mechanics for both the sniper and the defending forces.
The catch? You'll have to wait until July 2026 to get your hands on it, with pre-orders live now. But if you're attending Gen Con this July, a demo will be available. For a game designed by David Thompson, known for Undaunted, the hype is absolutely real.

Catzye Take
This long lead time is certainly a talking point, but it shows Rebellion Unplugged is committed to quality. Fans who backed the campaign should be excited for the new naval setting. What's interesting here is the continued success of video game adaptations in the tabletop space.
