Sesame Street Returns to Consoles After 15 Years

Sesame Street is finally getting its first major video game in 15 years! Fans might recall 2011's Sesame Street: Once Upon a Monster for Xbox 360 Kinect. Now, publisher Outright Games steps up with Sesame Street: Friends & Fun, slated for a surprisingly distant October 9, 2026 release.
Outright Games, a studio well-versed in licensed children's titles, announced its partnership with Sesame Workshop. This new adventure invites players to create and customize their own Muppet. You'll move into the iconic neighborhood, join familiar faces like Elmo, Grover, Bert, and Ernie, and prepare for a big community celebration.
The game promises exploration through light challenges and interactive storytelling. Expect engaging activities and mini-games designed to introduce early math skills. It's built for preschoolers, focusing on a warm, pressure-free experience with intuitive controls. Plus, two-player local co-op lets grown-ups or siblings join the fun. This marks a significant return for the beloved educational series to mainstream consoles.

Catzye Take
It's genuinely wild to see a major IP like Sesame Street go 15 years without a console game, especially given its history with interactive content. Outright Games handles a lot of kids' licensed titles, so they're a good fit, but that 2026 release date is a baffling wait.
