It stars Keith David as the titular President Andre Curtis, alongside Stephanie Beatriz and Jim Rash, tackling interdimensional diplomacy and paranormal crises that Rick Sanchez simply can't be bothered with. Harmon and Siciliano revealed their vision for President Curtis in a recent interview. The original Rick and Morty version craved approval. The spinoff President? He's the opposite. This President would never lie or cheat for higher numbers; he's doing the job because if he doesn't, someone worse will. He's a soldier, a vampire slayer, and surprisingly, a "lonely guy" who took the job out of duty, not ambition. This is a significant deepening of a fan-favorite character.

As for Rick and Morty's cameo, it’s a deliberate "one and done" for the season. Siciliano stated they wanted to address the "elephant in the room" of a spinoff but quickly let the new series establish its own identity and cast. This is a smart play, ensuring the spinoff can stand on its own two feet rather than being a mere extension. Meanwhile, back on the main show, Rick and Morty S09E08, "Rickuiem Mort a Dream," promises more of Rick's signature resentment issues being dumped squarely on Morty.
