Nacon Sells Blood Bowl License to Slitherine Amidst Insolvency Woes

Nacon's financial struggles continue. The publisher just offloaded the Blood Bowl video game license to strategy powerhouse Slitherine. This move follows Nacon's subsidiaries filing for insolvency, which already led to the closure of GreedFall studio Spiders.
Blood Bowl, Games Workshop's iconic fantasy sports strategy game, combines brutal gridiron violence with dark Warhammer humor. Slitherine, known for its deep strategy titles and existing Warhammer ties, seems a natural fit. They've been steadily expanding their Games Workshop portfolio.
The deal includes the entire Blood Bowl back catalog. Crucially, long-time developer Cyanide Studios will stay on board. They'll continue working on the previously announced next Warhammer Blood Bowl game. Slitherine promises dedicated community support and long-term development for the series.

Catzye Take
This is a significant shift for the Blood Bowl series and a clear sign of Nacon's ongoing financial troubles. Slitherine has a solid track record with complex strategy games, so this could be a great move for the franchise. Fans should definitely tune into the Slitherine Next Event for a glimpse into Blood Bowl's future.
