Madhouse Revives Cult Classic Shadow Weaver Chronicles for Season 2 After 15-Year Wait

The impossible has happened. Madhouse, the legendary studio behind Death Note and Hunter x Hunter (2011), just announced a second season for the beloved cult classic, Shadow Weaver Chronicles. Fans have waited over fifteen years for this.
The original anime adaptation, which aired way back in 2007, captivated audiences with its dark fantasy world, intricate magic system, and morally gray characters. But it ended on a massive cliffhanger, leaving its devoted fanbase in a permanent state of longing. Today, that longing ends. The official announcement came via a cryptic teaser visual dropped on Madhouse's social channels this morning, quickly confirmed by industry insiders.
Season 2 is reportedly helmed by Akihiro Tanaka, a rising star known for his work on more experimental OVAs. While details are still scarce, the return of key voice actors is a major win. Original manga creator Kaito Yamashiro is also said to be heavily involved, overseeing the new script to ensure fidelity to the source material.

Catzye Take
This is huge for fans of 'lost' anime series. What's interesting here is Madhouse revisiting a project after so long; it sets a precedent. Could this mean other beloved but unfinished anime might get a second chance? We'll be watching closely.
