Luce and the Rock Short Gets Massive 35-Episode TV Series for 2027

Hold onto your animated hats, folks: Britt Raes's critically acclaimed short, Luce and the Rock, is officially expanding into a full-blown TV series. We're talking 35 episodes, each seven minutes long, plus two 14-minute specials, all slated for a 2027 debut.
The Flemish director and her team are diving deeper into the unique bond between a tiny human and a giant rock creature. Originally a short film exploring an unlikely friendship, the series aims to broaden this charming universe. Raes and producer Perrine Gauthier confirmed they're keeping the short's beloved visual style: vibrant shapes, limited dialogue, and thoughtful sound design will all carry over.
This significant expansion allows for deeper exploration of themes like curiosity, open-mindedness, and empathy. The production, a collaboration between Thuristar, La Cabane, and France Télévisions, will air on Belgium's Ketnet, with Cake Distribution handling international views.
