Hasbro Unearths Doc Samson for Marvel Legends Retro Line

Hasbro is digging deep into the Hulk's rogues gallery for its latest Marvel Legends reveal: none other than Doc Samson. The gamma-powered psychiatrist, a cult classic at best, is finally getting his own highly detailed 6-inch figure.

Samson first appeared in 1971's The Incredible Hulk #141. He gained Hulk-like strength after a gamma radiation experiment, famously retaining his intellect and sporting a glorious head of green hair. The new figure captures his iconic look with an excellent sculpt, vibrant colors, and comes with two interchangeable head sculpts and extra hands.

This surprising addition is part of the Marvel Legends retro series, slated for a Fall 2026 release. Fans can mark their calendars for pre-orders starting June 11 at 1 PM ET via Hasbro Pulse. It's a deep cut that shows Hasbro's commitment to expanding the Marvel Legends universe beyond the usual suspects.

Catzye Take

This reveal is a pleasant surprise for long-time Marvel Comics fans who appreciate the deeper cuts. It signals Hasbro's willingness to diversify the Marvel Legends lineup beyond the mainstream MCU characters. We're excited to see what other niche heroes or villains might emerge in future retro releases.
