DC's Dreamer Faces Her Darkest Dreams in New Pride Event Comic

DC Comics' annual Pride celebration gets a serious dose of high stakes this week. Nia Nal, better known as Dreamer, takes center stage in Justice League: Dream Girls – A DC Pride Event #2. This isn't just a celebratory issue; it's a critical new chapter for the fan-favorite character.

Dreamer, the pioneering transgender hero first introduced in the Supergirl TV series, brings her powerful oneiric abilities to the forefront. She can see and manipulate dreams, a unique skill making her a formidable ally and a tempting target.

Now, the villainous Key sees Dreamer as his ultimate prize. He aims to commandeer her dream-weaving powers to control the entire dreamscape. Traditionally, the Key used chemical concoctions for mind control. But with Dreamer, his ambitions are far grander. He wants to craft a fantasy so compelling, she'll surrender her abilities to him permanently.

Complicating matters is Dreamer's best friend, Galaxy, who unexpectedly interferes in the dreamworld. Her presence threatens to unravel the Key's meticulously planned psychological warfare. The issue teases that even the strongest friendships can shatter under such pressure.

The creative team boasts a lineup of talent, with writing by Jadzia Axelrod, Nicole Maines (who plays Dreamer on TV), Morgan Hampton, and Steve Underwood. Art comes from Stephen Sadowski, Vincent Cecil, Mikel Janin, Brandt&Stein, and Alitha Martinez, among others.
