Auli'i Cravalho to Voice Jessica Cruz in My Adventures with Superman, Green Lantern Spinoff Confirmed

My Adventures with Superman just landed a massive new talent, and it's not just for a cameo. Auli'i Cravalho, beloved for her role in Disney's "Moana," is set to voice Jessica Cruz in the upcoming third season of the hit Adult Swim series. But here's the kicker: this isn't a one-off. Cravalho's debut as Jessica Cruz will directly precede her leading a confirmed animated spinoff: My Adventures with Green Lantern.
This is big news for fans who love the show's vibrant animation and fresh take on DC heroes. Showrunner Jake Wyatt revealed that they'd already planned to showcase Supergirl's impact in the second episode of Season 3. When the Green Lantern spinoff got the green light, it was a natural fit to introduce a pre-Lantern Jessica Cruz. Wyatt wanted to explore how a "shy, relatively powerless teenager" would perceive a powerhouse like Supergirl, and vice versa.
Casting Cravalho was apparently a no-brainer. Wyatt raved about her audition, praising the "complexity of emotion" and "natural, almost oblivious charm" she brought to the character. It was clear she was the one, even before he knew her name.
“When I heard Auli'i, there was this complexity of emotion to her read — a natural, almost oblivious charm that she brought to Jess.”
Catzye Take
This is a huge win for DC animation, expanding the beloved My Adventures universe with a fresh take on Green Lantern. Fans should keep an eye on how Jessica Cruz's dynamic with Supergirl plays out, as it promises to be a foundational moment for her solo series.
