Art of Rally Devs Unleash Free Demo for New Driving Adventure, Over The Hill

The acclaimed team behind Art of Rally, Funselektor Labs and Strelka Games, just dropped a free demo for their next unique driving title, Over The Hill. Available on Steam from June 16-22, this isn't your average racer. Instead, it invites players to relive the spirit of 1960s-1980s remote road trips.
Over The Hill trades competitive speed for pure, unadulterated exploration. Players will navigate vast, dynamic landscapes across diverse biomes, complete with day-night cycles and shifting weather. The focus is on the journey itself: discovering hidden portals, outfitting your vehicle, and tackling offroad challenges as you wander through stunning wilderness. It’s a neat departure, emphasizing the solitude and adventure of bygone era motoring.
This marks Funselektor’s fourth vehicle-related title, following the recent Golden Lap. Each game carves out its own niche, and Over The Hill looks set to continue that tradition, offering a distinct, atmospheric driving experience unlike anything else out there.

Catzye Take
This is a significant shift for fans of Funselektor's previous work, like Art of Rally, which blended arcade racing with stylized visuals. What's interesting here is the complete pivot to exploration and atmosphere over competition, which could appeal to a broader audience looking for a more relaxed, immersive experience. We're curious to see how the 'portals' mechanic plays out!
